Sigma Chi - MUSC

It has been another exciting and eventful year for the Sigma Chi Chapter of Psi Omega at the Medical University of South Carolina. Our- annual Casino Night, held in November, was a huge success. The casino games like Blackjack, Texas Hold 'em, and Craps brought out the competitive natures in everyone. The event raised a lot of money for our sponsored-,charities, and gave everyone a chance to relax.
In January, we welcomed sixteen new members to our chapter. The initiation was held at St. Luke's Chapel. After initiation, everyone headed to O'Reily's for the after party. The party gave the members a chance to get to know the new members and the opportunity to welcome them to Psi Omega.
In February, many of our members volunteered their time helping at the Special Olympics and Give Kids a Smile Day. Both of these events are a way for
Psi Omega and the Medical University of South Carolina to give back to our community. Since last year's first Annual Saltwater Fishing Tournament was such a success, we are currently organizing a second tournament for this spring. The tournament gives everyone a chance to have some fun in the sun while raising money for charity. In April, the Annual Senior Banquet will be held at Dr. Ns country house. During this time we get a chance to wish the seniors good luck for the future and to tell them how much we appreciate all that they have done.
Other events being planned are post-gross parties for the freshmen, a Welcome Back party for the fall, and Psi Omega happy hours. With all these events being planned, next year will likely be even more exciting than this year.

Zeta - University of Pennsylvania

Zeta Chapter started off the new academic year with sweeping changes at the house! The previous spring brought a revitalization of the Zeta Chapter which continued into the fall. Many long hours were spent cleaning and repairing the house. Old furniture and junk that had accumulated over the years were thrown out. Hours of weeding revealed a wonderful landscape. The entire first floor was painted in warm rich colors which added a touch of elegance to the old, Victorian house. Each of the Zeta Chapter members occupying the house took on the task of repairing their own rooms. In order to bring the house up-to-code, major repairs, such as electrical work, were completed by contractors. The interior of the house looks better than ever! It would not have been possible without the extremely generous donations of money from the Alumni and time from current Zeta Chapter members. We continue to work on the house and hope to be able to make the exterior equally as beautiful as the interior!
We celebrated our hard work at the Annual Back-to-School party where we welcomed back our colleagues and introduced ourselves to the new first year class. We continue to work hard at the Zeta Chapter and perform academically. Tutoring schedules were created in order to help the first and second year students ace their practicals.
At the Zeta Chapter, we pride ourselves on being balanced students who excel in and out of the classroom. Another fall party was held mid-semester and brought much needed relaxation during the busy academic year. We also began to fundraise by offering our tutoring services to nonmembers and selling items such as the popular Penn Dental thermal mugs.
Zeta Chapter ended the semester by having a catered Holiday Party at the Zeta Chapter House. It was a wonderful opportunity to celebrate the season and enjoy our house. Thank you to all of the current Zeta Chapter members and Alumni for their hard work and donations.
