As the football season comes to a close after the hard-fought Fiesta Bowl, the members of Psi Omega Psi chapter are geared up and ready to take on the new challenges of 2009. There are great changes taking place all over Ohio State currently and our chapter is no exception. Thanks to our house company and enthusiastic house manager Ryan Higgins there have been some fantastic improvements to the Psi chapter house in the past year. Multi-direction stadium seating and a brand new HD flatscreen in the living room have made Psi Omega a favorite place to pre-game and watch Buckeye football. The house has also undergone recent facelifts outdoors. The old crumbling brick porch has been entirely refaced, walkways around the house exterior have been redone, and the large Psi Omega grill has been re-fabricated, complete with a new stainless grill featuring Psi Omega emblems that seer into your burger or steak. Yes, when its football Saturday, there is no better place to be.

Now let’s not forget the changing faces of the Psi chapter members. New leadership under co-presidents Dawn Cheney (D4) and Kevin Priest (D3) has infused new enthusiasm into the fraternity and fostered improvement. With great strength from a long list of D2s, 3s, and 4s, fall rush has catalyzed the growth of a great group of Psi O’s from the Class of 2011. Our rush chairs have been hard at work introducing the fraternity to new dental students and also publicized all of our tailgates and events around the dental school. Psi chapter has also been actively involved with the community. Under the direction of Community Chair, Suzanne De Lima, OSU Psi Chapter prepared warm holiday chili and cornbread for over 80 families living in the Columbus Ronald McDonald house.

Last but not least, we just kicked off the annual Psi Omega ‘Tacky Sweater Christmas Party’ at our favorite local dive - Bier Stube. The event produces as many smiling faces and unforgettable memories as any other during the year. Be on the watch for cleverly ornamented clothing, seasonal mustaches, and lots of sparkling accessories. On the very last day of Fall finals, its time to sit back, find your friends, smile, and realize that in the end we’re excited simply to survive this together.
